The best tea party toys and accessories for kids
When choosing a tea set for your child it’s important to pick something age appropriate. For younger toddlers, make sure that there’s no small pieces that could be swallowed or even broken off. With older kids you can add more accessories. Or even consider a china tea set for more realistic play.
Have tea parties with your kids
If your child is unfamiliar with tea parties you should introduce them to it by having a tea party together. Demonstrate how to ‘serve’ tea with their new tea set. You can even set our toy (or real) cakes or snacks for you to enjoy together.
For kids who are hoping to play with the ‘real’ tea set, tea themed toys are a perfect addition to the playroom. That way kids can imitate what they see in their lives through play. Supporting imaginative and pretend play is important to help with early childhood development.

The best tea party toys and accessories for kids
If you’re still trying to figure out what’s the best tea party toys and accessories for kids we do one set that stood out from the others on this list. Although it’s not super high quality, the Liberty Imports Deluxe Afternoon Tin Tea Set is a great first tea set for kids over the age of 3.
Made of tin, you’ll get good durability without having to worry about kids breaking the tea set. It features a more traditional design which kids who like fancy tea parties will appreciate. I also love the fact it comes with cute desserts to serve at the tea party without needing to buy an extra product.
The only downside to this set is the lack of cream and sugar bowls but most kids won’t miss them. The plastic accessories are also not great quality, but again, kids don’t mind. This set still offers a lot of play options in one package.
Although there aren’t any obvious choking hazards it’s not made for kids under 3. That being said, younger kids could play with it under adult supervision. Or if you’re looking for a toddler-friendly alternative, go with the Leapfrog set instead. It’s also great quality and has a lot of accessories, but is too childish to recommend overall for kids.
When shopping for the best tea party toys and accessories for kids look for something that offers a lot of open ended play options. If you child is able to handle it, seriously consider giving them a real china tea set instead of a toy. That way they can practice handling breakable tea sets and get ready for joining into adult tea parties later.
Accessories like food and serving ware make toy tea sets even more fun. No matter which one you choose, any tea party loving kid is going to love a tea set!
