Carla Larson and Naomi Kjellberg were unlikely friends at the beginning of college, and eventually became study partners.
They never had the time or money to go out to eat or spend much time away from the campus, so they started a little tradition.
They made tea. Every night that they were together, they made a different type of tea that only cost them a dollar or so from the local corner store.
They enjoyed them, and moved on to others, using this as an anti-jinx before big exams and finals.
But then, the local corner store ran out of different tea to try, so they took to the internet. Boom—there are hundreds that they hadn’t tried yet, and they were eager to get started.
Then, the tea started coming in, and they were completely bamboozled by off-brands with terrible tea bags, overly processed tea (drying tea leaves isn’t rocket science), and other unexpected issues.
They completed college together with a little dream on the side, to educate people about tea in every way possible, and share some of the good (and the bad) experiences with other tea-lovers.
That’s where you come in.
They want to do everything they can to ensure you have a pleasant tea-drinking experience, from sourcing down to brewing, and really educating you on what you’re getting when you order tea online, among other beverages.
